Hi everyone! My name is Matt Favazza and I’m a family nurse practitioner located in the Boston area. I have been in practice for seven years and have extensive experience in internal/geriatric medicine (both in the office and in the hospital).

The cornerstone of my clinical practice has always been educating my patients so that they can best take control of their health (physically, mentally, and emotionally). I firmly believe that the more someone understands their body, conditions, tests, and treatments, the better they can fix and maintain their health. Teaching brings me just as much happiness as practicing medicine and for many years, I have taught dozens of nurse practitioner/medical/physician assistant students, given lectures at various universities, spoken at conferences, and published in medical textbooks to help further others’ knowledge.

This is what brought me to create Bow Tie Health. My aim for this endeavor is to educate the general public about medicine, health, the world around us and how it impacts our health, all while having fun! As for the bow tie…for several years, I’ve always worn bow ties to embody my true, nerdy self. In my previous practice and hospital setting, I proudly earned the reputation of “the bow tie guy” and quickly it became my claim to fame.

So let’s get to learning! Using the form below send me your questions!
